Banana Cream Pie

The traditional banana cream pie is a recipe bursting with flavor. It's a no-bake dessert that comes together quickly thanks to the use of instant pudding, but if you're wondering how a cream pie was made before cold whip mixture and the readymade instant pudding.

The following recipe is how it was done. Yes, you can also make a vanilla cream pie if you don't add the bananas. You may also make coconut cream pie by adding a cup of shredded coconut to the milk instead of bananas. 

Ingredients: one cup of 2 percent milk, 3.5 ounces of instant vanilla pudding mix, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, twelve ounces of frozen whipped topping, graham cracker crust (9 inches), and medium-firm bananas.

Recipe:

  • Prepare a baked 9-inch pie dough in the pie pan
  • Heat the milk in a big saucepan.
  • Combine the sugar, flour, and salt in a separate pot and gradually add it spoon by spoon in the milk saucepan.
  • Cook the mixture, stirring regularly until the sauce has thickened over medium heat.
  • Cook for another two minutes, covered, stirring periodically.
  • Prepare 3 egg yolks in a small bowl, slightly beaten; stir a tiny portion of the hot mixture into the beaten yolks, and then add the yolks into the hot mixture until well incorporated.
  • Cook for another minute, stirring regularly in between.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and add in the butter and a few drops of vanilla extract.
  • Allow cooling until lukewarm.
  • Slice bananas and scatter in a pie pan
  • Pour the warm milk mixture over the bananas.
  • Make a meringue of the 3 egg whites to top the pie if desired, or just let it cool until served.

Triple Fudge

If you're in a rush to cook a dessert, here's a dish that'll not only save you time but also will be a treat for your taste buds. After you're done, you'll have a large pan of incredibly rich, fudgy brownies that people won't be able to keep their hands off of.

Ingredients: 4 ounces of instant chocolate pudding mix, 1 box of chocolate cake mix, 2.5 cups of semisweet chocolate chips, sugar, and some vanilla ice cream.

Recipe:

  • Melt the bittersweet and unsweetened chocolates along with the butter in a metal bowl set over a pan of hot water, keep stirring until smooth.
  • Set the bowl aside to cool until it is lukewarm.
  • Add the sugar and a few drops of vanilla extract to the mixture and stir well.
  • Add the beaten eggs one by one, stirring thoroughly after each one.
  • Stir in the salt and flour until just blended.
  • Add the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into a pan that has been buttered and floured all over.
  • Smooth the surface, and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a tester comes out clean.
  • Allow it to cool completely in the pan on a rack before cutting into 24 bars.

Quick Cherry Turnovers

Cherry Turnovers are a traditional morning pastry and are greatly loved by people of all ages. How are they made? The ready-made crescent rolls that are easily available in any nearby store are filled with cherry pie filling and sometimes cream cheese. They are then baked and later iced with a sweet vanilla icing to make quick turnovers. They're one of the most delicious easy desserts to make at home.

Ingredients: 9 ounces of any regular dough rolls, 1.5 cups of cherry or berry pie filling, powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and vanilla extract. 

  • Preheat your oven to around three fifty degrees.
  • Then line your baking container with a butter paper
  • flatten out the dough and cut it into four squares; place it on a baking sheet.
  • Using your fingers, pinch the layers together
  • Fill one corner of each square with one quarter cup pie filling.
  • To produce triangles, fold them in half and pinch the sides to close them.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes in the oven.
  • As they're in the process of baking, you can make the icing: Mix the sugar, the milk, and extract in a mixing bowl until a batter-like mixture is formed. 
  • Drizzle the icing on top of the hot turnovers.
